​Born in Southampton in 1975, Richard began his painting career when he moved to St Just in Cornwall in 2005.  Self taught, Richard's inspiration is drawn from the bleak and windswept landscape of West Penwith.  ​In 2012 Richard was commissioned by the St Just in Bloom committee to design and paint a mural on a wall at the entrance into St Just.  He now has his own studio workshop in St Just. Richard's work is also exhibited in Gallery Tresco on the Isles of Scilly.
